Seeds
Our seed library exists to provide free vegetable, flower and herb seeds to all who want to sow, grow, and share them. Seeds come from diverse sources, including donations from community growers and big seed companies, as well as our own park grown varieties. Take as many seeds as you plan to grow this year, and return only what you won’t use for next year!
Friends of FDR hosts workshops & gatherings for gardeners and growers all year round!
Learn more about our gardening programs here.
Binoculars
Renowned for urban birding due to its position on the Atlantic Flyway, the Pennsylvania Audubon Society has designated the Lakes an Important Bird Area (IBA). Check out a pair of binoculars and a bird guide to best enjoy our beautiful and endangered tidal forest ecosystems! Look out for blackbirds, warblers, swallows, flycatchers, finches, woodpeckers, shovelers, ducks, grebes, geese, herons, and many more.
If you’d like to bird with a group, check out our public programs calendar here.
If you’d like to schedule a birding field trip for your group, reach out to youth@fdrpark.org (for youth) or info@fdrpark.org (for adults)
