Picnic Permits

 
 

Picnic Permits are used to reserve space for private events such as barbeques, birthday parties & family reunions.

Applying for a permit is recommended, particularly on days that the park is busy. Permits are available for the Spring, Summer & Fall seasons.

Make your reservation at least 14 days in advance. There are 2 types of spaces that can be reserved for Picnics & Private Events:  


BOATHOUSE

The Boathouse is available to be reserved as a "Pavilion" for $140/day. 

  • The space is covered overhead.  

  • There are no tables or seats provided. You will need to provide your own.   

  • There are no grills provided. You will need to provide your own.

  • There are steps leading up to the Boathouse. There is no ramp access.

 

PICNIC SITE

There are 21 Picnic Sites (#7-21 & A-F) that can be reserved for $35/day. 

  • Each picnic site has 3 tables and a trashcan. 

  • There are no grills provided. You will need to provide your own. 

APPLY FOR A PERMIT


The Friends of FDR Park does not issue permits. All permits are issued by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.

Permit applications must be submitted at the Parks and Recreation office either in person (recommended) or by mail. The office is located at 2130 Winter St, right at N 22nd St.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Please note that only printed applications are accepted; application forms cannot be submitted by email.

Please keep your gatherings safe and considerate! Take any trash that you bring into the park with you when you leave, or dispose in one of our public trash bins; keep volume levels to a reasonable level out of respect for other parkgoers.
