FDR Park Staff

Thanks to our staff who work on the ground and help maintain daily park operations, FDR Park is always growing! We have a small but mighty team of dedicated staff who each play a vital role in cultivating the community space South Philly deserves.

John Murawski is a lifelong Philadelphian having attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel elementary and St. John Neumann High School. Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from West Chester University and Masters degree in Educational Administration from Gwynedd Mercy University. John has served as Athletic Director and President of Ss. John Neumann & Maria Goretti HS, Executive Director of PHYSED Inc and most recently as the Assistant Director of Strategic Engagement for Philadelphia Park & Recreation. John is an avid endurance athlete and has always enjoyed time training for races right here in FDR Park.
John has for years enjoyed spending time with his family here in the as well with wife Nancy, Sons Nathan (19) & Nolan (16) along with his daughter Sadie Mae(14). "I am looking forward to working with our community and our many stakeholders to ensure that we consistently deliver a park experience that is safe, fun and enjoyable for every one of our guests."

Martha (she/her) has been at FDR Park for over five years! She knows all the ins-and-outs of FDR. She helps maintain daily operations, staffs events, and is always finding ways to make park guests smile. After being on her own at the park for years, she is excited to create change with a team! She looks forward to planning new projects to breathe new life into FDR.

Tara (she/her) works hard weeding, planting, and dreaming up new ideas to beautify the park! She lives nearby in South Philly and loves having a job where she can enjoy the outdoors and isn't stuck behind a computer. She hopes to build a strong park community in which people from all walks of life feel a sense of ownership and personal stake in the upkeep and enjoyment of the park.

Letha (she/her) does all of the wonderful programing at the park. She started as a volunteer picking trash and weed invasives in 2020.  When she heard the park was seeking someone to manage programming, she jumped at the chance.  Letha finds joy in supporting free public programming created by FDR's diverse communities for those communities.  She brings over 20 years of experience in grassroots organizing and trauma-informed care.
